Magic Draw

A drawing tool for kids to sketch and color freely.

I made this tool for the Figma Makeathon. I wanted to create something fun for kids.

I watched the kids around me and noticed that when you give them a laptop or a phone, they usually watch cartoons or videos about makeup and drawing. This made me think a lot and gave me the idea to start and build this project.

How i build

I first prepared a detailed prompt using claude then i build a basic, quick version directly in Figma using the AI tool, without manually editing anything in Figma. Once the AI generates the initial design, I refine the entire design experience back in Figma.

This is the version I got from the AI. It’s not bad, but I found a few areas for improvement.

I refined the whole product experience back in figma than asked AI to made these changes.

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. This is the beautiful introduction we designed for when the kids first enter. When they see the playful colors and animations, they’ll immediately feel engaged.

Real Testing:

After building it i run quick tests with the KIDS of my home and honestly they enjoyed it. During testing the rainbow effect stood out as their favoriteeee :)

Honestly my satisfaction with building the product came from real testing, and it was fun too.
